ESG - back online

Good news for anyone using E-smokeguru as their main supplier, they are now back online and trading as normal. It took a little longer than expected but they are back, bigger and better with further improvements to the site on the way.

Imeo has said that he will begin shipping new Tilemahos in around 10 days to suppliers so keep checking the site for updates. There should be other spares available soon too, although I'm not 100% sure which parts are expected.

Congrats to the E-smokeguru team, I wish them every success with the new site. I know they will continue providing outstanding customer service and professionalism.

Latest Roundup

It's been a busy few weeks for GG and for myself, leaving me little time to visit ECF and the GG forum. Well I'm all caught up and sharing what I know, saving you the effort of reading through all the threads.

Twins

First up it seems we have a very rare case of GG twins. The following two Ithaka's appeared in the GG Pictures thread, both bearing the same serial number. One belongs to Itshak and the other to Mddally.

Nobody knows how this happened and I think it's the first time this has occured. Imeo has promised to rectify the mistake with some sort of extra engravings which is good of him.

New premises for E-smokeguru

Vassilils has shut ESG until the 17th of January to give him time to set up a new unit in Athens. It's good to see that in a country plagued with financial problems in recent times that ESG are still able to grow. The shop in Salaminas will remain open for those lucky enough to visit.

Pre-Orders

The pre-orders for Penelope's and Tilemahos were put on hold by Imeo due to problems at the machine shop. Expected release date for new constructions is around the 15th of February. There has been a lot of discussion on the new parts, all of which can be seen at the following link.

Tilemahos-22mm-23mm

As for spares, Imeo says that parts are getting made and there will be parts for all GG constructions and that the other GG sellers will have enough parts too. Brass parts may be a problem as Imeo says he has had trouble sourcing it. I get the feeling though that the way parts and products are produced will be changing and maybe the new ESG premises are part of that. We will have to wait and see.

VIR

Still no update on VIR. Imeo had said that it would be ready soon after Christmas and we are now nearly half way through January. If Imeo's prediction was right we can't be too far from a release. However, as much as I would like to see VIR available I understand the delay. VIR will be a big change in the type of product Golden Greek offers so it makes sense for Imeo to ensure he gets everything right first time.

Prices

Finally a new thread has appeared with Imeo asking for thoughts and ideas on prices. In the thread Imeo states his intention of competing with China on price. This is a tall order as China is cheaper on just about every vaping product you can buy. The quality is questionable but prices are definitely lower in the far east. It's an interesting thread and well worth checking out, hit the link below to follow developments.

Just a quick post to let you know that Tilemahos will be available at e-smokeguru tomorrow from 18:00 Greek time. There will also be 'a lot of spares' to buy at the same time. So if you missed the last batch or are looking to get extras for any of your existing GG items, check out e-smokeguru tomorrow.

One other piece of exciting news. In a post on ECF Imeo has hinted that he is working on a new GG design. We will probably hear more about it when Imeo is ready but at the moment it sounds like he is working hard to get Proteus finished, as well as overseeing the production of the latest batch of JustGG, Stealth and Ithaka.

Proteus, VIR & GG Parts - Latest Information

Now that Esterigon and Tilemahos have made their appearances, the two releases most GG fans are most looking forward to are Proteus along with VIR. With Proteus the complexity of the design and build, software requirements and Imeo's desire for perfection has meant a longer time to bring it to market. VIR remains as mysterious as ever, no-one really knows anything about it. It's often talked about but Imeo is keeping the details of VIR secret now.

For the official word on Proteus and VIR I have collected together these quotes from Imeo, all made within the last few days.


"Proteus will carry VIR. It will soon come to the market and it will impress you so much that you will not believe your eyes and ears....."

In recent Golden Greek products design and build quality have increased dramatically, while at the same time keeping the core essence of a GG. So, when Imeo says the things above, I am willing to bet that Proteus and the mysterious VIR are going to be real game changers, keeping Golden Greek at the top of the vaping world.

We might not be any nearer to a release but we at least know something fantastic is coming.

Upcoming preorder

I had listed a lot of information here about the coming preorder but it seems that it is out of date now. There will be a preorder soon but Imeo is trying to figure out the best way to do it. I think he is trying to find a way to keep everyone happy and I know that is a hard thing to do.

Tilemahos - 2nd batch and GG pre-sales

The sale of Tilemahos looks to have gone really well. Fluid Vaper and e-smokeguru both have it listed as out of stock. I  do see Tilemahos available at Bitfumo but I can't say how accurate that is. 

Hopefully those after a Tilemahos were able to buy one, if not there is good news. A second batch should be ready in about 10 days according to a post by Vassilis from e-smokeguru. This should give people another shot at getting hold of the hottest new GG tank.

Also remember that there will be pre-orders for all other GG parts from e-smokeguru. This will start in two days time. I have no information yet on the other sellers but I will update this post if I find out any more regarding this.



IMPORTANT UPDATE!

Pre-orders have been pushed back about a month to give all sellers a chance to prepare. The good news is that they will remain open for about a month to give everyone a chance of getting their orders in.

GG Tilemahos - On sale now!

Just a quick post to say Tilemahos is now on sale at Fluid and Bitfumo by the looks of things. Both sites have it listed as in stock. I was under the impression it would be a simultaneous sale from all three dealers but it looks like the two sellers above have had a head start on e-smokeguru.

Tilemahos will be available within the next few hours on e-smokeguru and from what I can see there will be a choice of two bases, 510 or 510 with air control. I also see a choice of two finishes of matte or polished. Check the links in the dealers tab above for more details.

UPDATE

All three sellers have had Tilemahos available for sale. It looks like sales have gone well, I know for example, stock is down to around 20 Tilemahos left at e-smokeguru as I write this.

Also for anyone not convinced that they need the new GG atomiser, check out this video by the irrepressible Bishopheals. After seeing this there can be no doubt that the Tilemahos is more than capable of producing some very big clouds!

Tilemahos Dripper and release date

Imeo has recently posted a video showing how Tilemahos can be used as a dripper. I think this is in response to people asking for a dripper version of Tilemahos. But as you can see in the video, Tilemahos is small enough in size and more than capable of being used for dripping. The beauty of Tilemahos is that it can be used either way depending on your choice. Also any worries about the performance of Tilemahos can be forgotten after you witness the huge clouds Imeo produces in the video. 

Release Date

The release date has now been officially been confirmed as the 18th of August 2014. On the day of release Tilemahos will be available from all three GG sellers simultaneously so people everywhere will get their chance to grab the latest GG tank. I'm not sure what options will be available regarding bases for Tilemahos but I will find out and update this post. Be aware that Vassilis and the e-smokeguru team are taking a much needed break before the release, with the shop being closed from the 11th to the 17th of August.


One final bit of information, on the 20th of August, e-smokeguru will be taking pre-orders for 'almost all GG devices and parts'. Good news for those waiting for spares and the chance to buy full mods.

Then all we have left to look forward to is Proteus!

Just a friendly reminder that the limited run of 1000 Esterigon will be released very shortly and if you are thinking of getting one, now would be a good time to start checking the sellers sites. You should plan your purchases so you can save on delivery by getting everything ordered at the same time. So if you are after spares or extra's, start looking now.

Also don't forget to order your batteries, Esterigon takes an 18500 battery in standard mode but I think it was said there will be options to purchase 18650 and 18350 tubes too.

The last thing I read from Imeo regarding the release of Esterigon was a post stating he might ship to sellers in around 3-4 days. That was 3 days ago, so we are getting close now. Just remember that suggested date could change at any moment.

UFS Lives Again!

One of the reasons I use only GG items is the total faith I have in each piece. I know if I have a problem there is usually an easy fix or I can get help from the more experienced members on the ECF forum. Failing that I could get back to the sellers or even Imeo himself. Imeo goes to great lengths to provide excellent customer service to all GG owners, new and old.

So despite having some other e-cig hardware tucked away in drawers, I do only use GG products now. I can't even remember the last time I bought a carto or an atomiser. A while back I found the perfect set up for me, with my Odysseus. I make up a single coil at about 1ohm and that suits me fine, normally lasting a few days before the coil needs changing.

I'm not really over obsessed when it comes to making coils. If it vapes, it'll do. I am slightly jealous of some of the amazing set-ups I see people putting together but my skill or equipment hasn't let me replicate those builds so far. Anyway during any cleaning or rebuilding of my Oddy I like to use my Penelope (edit-and now V2 too) or Ithaka.

I also have a UFS that I would love to keep in use too but I damaged the bottom cup somehow and now it wont tighten any more. I had an alert on e-smokeguru set to notify me when that particular part was in stock again. Last week I got that notification so I quickly went online and put my order in. After struggling with getting the payment to go through I had to drop Vassilis an email, to which he replied with an alternative payment option. The rest of the process went smoothly with all the other regular confirmation and receipt emails, followed a few days after with tracking details.

I am always super impressed with the service I get from e-smokeguru and highly recommend them for your GG stuff. Make sure you use the 'Notify Me' buttons for items not in stock, it really saves time and stress when looking for something in particular.

As I'm writing this my package is on it's way to me and my UFS is sitting here in pieces, ready for assembly. So I am off to set up my UFS for the first time in months, it seems like much longer. There is nothing like hitting that perfect sweet spot with a finely tuned UFS, the only thing is, I'll have to buy some atomisers again.

*Last minute update!

My package arrived as I was leaving the house so the UFS is whole again. I need to see if I have any old 510 atomisers anywhere but I'm just glad to see it all in one piece again. On the left in the picture you can just about see where I messed up my threads trying to fix the bottom cup.

Also I received the Ithaka update which looks superb, lot's of GG experimenting going on tonight I think!

I was thinking about web sites I visit and thought it might be a good idea to list a few of the sites I use for anyone who has just got a GG or is interested in buying one. The following links are where you can find Golden Greek products, information, general supplies, etc.

Buying Golden Greek products

In my opinion the best place to get genuine GG products is from the official sellers. If the item you want is not in stock all the sellers sites have a 'Notify me' button. When a new item is released there is normally a pre-order where you can secure that item before the general sale starts.

The next three links are for the Official Sellers and are the first places you should look when searching for a GG product.

If you are after something a bit more individual there are often some GG's for sale at the unofficial Vaperev. As well as the normal GG's Vaperev sell some custom GG's. These are GG's that have been decorated by master engraver Otto Carter. I have written more about Otto HERE. Be warned the prices for the engraved GG's reflect the exclusivity and craftmanship!

The final option would be to search forum classifieds but beware of possible stings and over inflated prices.

Supplies

I use GG rebuildables probably 95% of the time so next up are a few sites I use for wire and wick. The increasing interest in rebuildable atomisers means you can find supplies nearly everywhere now.  Lots of e-cig shops sell pre made coils and reels of wire and wick but it can be more cost effective to buy in larger amounts. 

A quick Google search should return plenty of vendors selling all you'll need but these two companies are the one's I use.

I have used both of these sites and have found each one very reliable and their products of excellent quality.

I won't list e-liquid suppliers as there are too many to choose from, although I will say that I tend to go for 100ml bottles as it works out cheaper in the long run.

I think it's safe to say that the majority of vapers make their purchases online. It's the way of the world now and just about everything can be sourced online, somewhere.

So it's nice to see  actual, physical stores available for people to get a better experience when shopping. This store in particular pleases me because it stocks Golden Greek products. Not only that, it is also a very cool, modern looking store too.
