Imeo just posted a new video with the new drip tips he has designed. They look pretty cool and come in a few different styles. I love the fact they all feature double o rings for a good solid fit.

Pic of the Month February 2015

There weren't too many pictures in this month's batch posted on ECF. That made judging this months competition a little easier although I'd have liked to have seen more pictures. Anyway the picture I've chosen is this one by breminator. I like the mix of brass and steel and the outdoor setting. I also like the balancing of the GG4S on the edge of the rock, he has more trust than me! A fine pair of GG's.

Would You Buy a GG Box Mod?

There has been a little bit of discussion on the forums on the subject of a GG box mod. As with most things in life there are those for it and those against it. I think it's a good idea, I'll admit that straight away. Imeo has shown with all GG products in the past how he can take something and make it successful. A GG box mod would be a huge hit in my opinion. Box mods are very popular with a huge number of devices available. I'd like to show a few here that I think look really good and have good design.

As you can see there are lots of different designs and finishes that could be used. With the already designed VIR a GG mod could compete easily with anything else on offer. I don't know if Imeo will ever make one but I think if he did it would be different and popular. I believe Imeo has all the right ingredients to make a very successful box mod and it would be a good way of introducing box mod fans to the GG line.

We'll just have to wait and see what Imeo decides, he has plenty of other things to worry about at the moment. I may be over estimating the appeal of box mods so it would be interesting to hear what you think.

ESG Sales

It seems there was quite a rush with the recent sale of devices and parts at E-smokeguru. I've read a few comments on the forums and it sounds like demand outweighed supply on some items. It's good that what was for sale is still as popular as ever but I do feel a bit of sympathy for those that weren't quick enough to secure what they wanted. I'm sure Imeo is making as many parts as he can to keep up stock levels, so if you missed out this time hopefully you'll get another chance to buy soon.

Still no word on whether Fluid will be getting any parts in although it seems some buyers were able to get what they wanted from Vassilis. Hopefully Imeo gets something sorted soon for US buyers, a halt in the flow of GG parts means more people using fewer sellers which leads to more of a scramble.

New US supplier?

I don't want to tempt fate by speaking too early but I wanted to get the word out and forewarn US GG fans as soon as possible. I may have this all wrong but this is what I've picked up from the forum.

It hasn't been long since Rob at Fluid took over as the US GG Supplier but it looks as though there may be something going on. I have no idea of how Imeo or Rob works but I found the following posts in the GG Tilemahos V2 and Penelope V4 mini Official thread. Talking about Rob and Fluid, Imeo said the following in a couple of posts.

'he would receive everything SS but I don't think he will respond. Its time for a new USA seller. I will see what I will do about it' 

'Today I contacted to some USA sellers SS and I will wait for their response'

At the moment it doesn't look too hopeful. We will just have to wait to see what happens. The good news is that there are still other suppliers to buy from.  If you are planning on getting any GG items in the near future I would advise you to keep checking the threads on the GG sub forum to find out what is going on. Especially those of you in the US.

I hope Rob can get sorted out, if not it looks like there may be another US seller on the cards.

Pinterest

Having got used to how Instagram works  I have now started a Pinterest page. Part of the reason is to be able to collect some awesome pictures in one place, the best of the best type of thing. Another reason is although I am totally committed to Golden Greek, there are some mods and other vape things I like or am interested in. Pinterest seems like a good place to collate all the things that don't really fit here or on My Golden Greek.

GG Drip Tips

I mentioned in an earlier post that Imeo was thinking about making some drip tips. These are mainly to fit the new Tilemahos V2 but should fit any similar drip tip fitting. Imeo says he will make a straight drip tip and one like the mouthpiece on iAtty.

I think this one looks really good, keep in mind the finished version will be a bit shorter. This is to keep the overall length down when opening the juice control. What do you think? Will you buy one or stick to your own drip tips? I imagine these will be pretty cheap and popular, let's hope Imeo makes a ton of them.

Proteus Latest Changes and Instructions

We are finally getting very close to the release of Proteus and to prepare people Imeo has made a video showing the changes he has made. I've posted the video here for you to watch as it would take far too long to explain everything properly. Instead I am copying below the instructions from the Proteus thread on ECFby Imeo with help from proteckt3d. Along with the video it should give you a good idea of how VIR/Proteus works.

Instructions for Proteus

PROTEUS IS IN YOUR HANDS:
1. To install a battery, unscrew the brass part and insert an 14500 IMR battery, positive side up. Screw the brass part again. If the battery is not making contact, please unscrew the venting cap and adjust the small brass bolt inside it.
2. Wait 6 seconds until Proteus locks (you will see green light blinking a few times and then a blue light will stay on for 2 seconds).
3. Connect an atomizer on Proteus which has a Titanium grade 1 coil.
4. Unlock Proteus by pressing 5 quick times the button. You will have a red light blinking slowly. Dont interfere with the device during this procedure. After blinking stops (in about 25 sec on a cold atomizer or in about 1 minute on a very hot atomizer), you will have a fixed orange light that stays on for about 2 seconds and shows that auto detection function is finished.
5. Push the button to vape.


LIGHTS THAT WILL APPEAR DURING VAPING:
1 short red blink: You vape at lower temperature because battery cannot sustain the set temperature level.
10 green fast blinks: Your atomizer is bad fed or its running out of liquid, so you have to refill it. Especially on GG atomizers, you can just open the liquid control. If the problem persists, you have to refill.
5 slow white blinks: The charge in the battery is getting low and soon it will be discharged completely. Change your battery or go to a lower temperature step.
Blue light is steady on for 2 seconds: Proteus is locked because the button was pushed for more than 15 seconds (press button 5 times to unlock it).
10 red fast blinks: Short circuit, meaning that your atomizer has a lower resistance than VIR can handle, or your atomizer is shorting. Check your atomizer or make a new coil. Before you make a new coil, wash your atomizer under running water to remove any small pieces of wires that may be shorting it.


MENU:
Note: The range of the working temperature is 180-280 Celsius degrees. Proteus remembers the temperature setting and all your settings in general after battery is changed.
Up menu - Increase temperature level: push 3 times and keep the button pushed for 1 sec. The red light will stay on. While its on, push the button 1 time to increase the temperature 10 Celsius degrees, 2 times for 20 Celsius degrees increase, etc
Down menu-Decrease temperature level: push 4 times and keep the button pushed for 1 sec. The green light will stay on. While its on, push the button 1 time to decrease the temperature 10 Celsius degrees, 2 times for 20 Celsius degrees decrease, etc
Lock Proteus: push the button 5 times (blue light stays on for 2 seconds)
Unlock Proteus: push the button 5 times (blue light blinks 3 times)
Check set temperature: Go to either the Up or Down menu and when either the red or the green lights turn on, release the button. An orange light will start blinking slowly, each blink indicating one step in temperature ( 10 Celsius degrees). The total number of blinks will let you know what temperature you are at.
Stop led's blinkings in general: push 1 time the button


CHANGING ATOMIZER:
If you want to vape again on the same atomizer (or without changing the coil on it), lock Proteus - disconnect the atomizer - connect it again when you are ready. Unlock and vape
If you want to vape with a different atomizer (or with the same atomizer in witch you changed the coil), let Proteus lock by itself - connect the new atomizer - unlock - wait until orange light turns on (after 25 sec-1 min, depending of how cold or hot the atomizer is) and vape.


CLEANING:
Keep threads and contacts clean, otherwise your Proteus will not work as you expect.

I am sure once people get Proteus in their hands it won't take too long to figure out how to use it. From what I saw in the video it's looking very good and working very well and the best news is it is not too far away now.

GG Tilemahos V2 and GG Penelope V4 mini

I know this video is a few days old now but I was in hospital having an operation. I'm all better now and back home so I can add some more information. As you can see in the video there are a couple of Golden Greek releases coming out very soon.

In the video there are a lot of different parts so I'll try to cover them all here. First up there is a longer tank with more fluid capacity for Tilemahos. It takes 4.6ml of juice and is about 5mm longer. The existing mouthpiece will be shorter due to the increased length so it's a trade off for that extra bit of juice you can carry.

Next is the new Tilemahos hybrid base for GGTS and JustGG. There is also a new centre pin for Tilemahos to keep the overall length as short as possible when using the hybrid base.

The next item is one that a lot of people are waiting for, Tilemahos V2 at 21,22 and 23mm. All three sizes come with air control bases. The design is very close to V1 with only a few minor changes. It has five main pieces, the top cap, main body, mouthpiece, rebuildable part and the base. The mouthpiece is designed so you can use your own drip tip but Imeo has said he will be making some GG drip tips in the future. Because of the thicker wall on the drip tip connection the top cap has a slightly wider diameter to enable filling from the top.

GG4S with new Tilemahos V2

The rebuildable part is pretty much the same as V1. The channels on the side are scooped for improved fit with wicking and the o ring around the rebuildable part has been removed to allow easier unscrewing from the base.. The new adjustable 'centre post extension' as Imeo has called it, is another change. It is a sealed flat head screw design with three small o rings to make a good seal and firm hold. Finally the base now has o rings on the bottom for the air control, as opposed to being in the ring on V1. The base also carries the GG letters instead of the Tilemahos name.

Also available for the new Tilemahos will be clear tanks. They are made from the same material as used in Ithaka, UFS, etc. Note that the tank in the picture is a different diameter than the base and will obviously not look like this, unless you buy the wrong tank!

Finally we have the Penelope V4 mini. Inside it is basically the same as Tilemahos V2 with obvious size differences. It features the same new style of adjustable centre pin and features CNC'd GG wings. Design-wise it is a progression from V3 and will no doubt be as popular as all past versions.

So there are a few nice pieces due for release soon. Tilemahos V2 looks really good, a perfect partner for the GG4S. The option of clear windows is great, some people like to see their juice levels and some like the look. At six euros for the windows they will probably sell out fast.

I'm happy to see Imeo at the final stages with a lot of his projects, making room for him to work on VIR and Proteus. These latest releases should get people buzzing about Golden Greek products and provide some respite from the agony of waiting for VIR and Proteus to be ready.

Tilemahos Clear Windows coming soon!

I just saw a post from Imeo regarding clear windows on Tilemahos. I think this image below shows an after market clear Tilemahos window, just an idea of what to expect. Imeo says he will post a picture soon so I'll update when he does.

I think clear windows look really good as well as being functional. I can't wait to see Tilemahos on a GG4S, a very clean and minimal look and one of the smallest 18650 mods around. Performance and looks will make this a hot mod worthy of representing the GG line.

As well as the release of these parts Imeo has said in another thread that he will be making a new video about VIR soon. It will be interesting to see any changes that have been made and also good to get fired up again for VIR. It's been a long, long wait, however I still think it will be worth it.

Pic of the Month - January 2015

This month was a tricky one as there were lots of great pictures and some great collections posted. In the end I decided to pick this picture from long time forum member Cappy. I have been admiring Cappy's GG's and pictures for as long as I can remember, definitely one of the users responsible for making me fall in love with Golden Greeks.

Check out the buttons on those GG's, sitting alongside the newest GG family member, the GG4S. I know Cappy has a collection of GG's that most would be happy to own, a committed GG man who deserves some recognition as one of the major GG stalwarts.
