Esterigon looking like a June release

Esterigon Officially on the way

Barring any last minute hitches Esterigon should probably be in stock on sellers sites sometime in the first week of June. Imeo has started shipping the hotly anticipated Esterigon to his sellers, giving a quote of around five days to reach the US vendor. The intention is for a simultaneous release in all regions which seems like a good idea to make it fair on sellers and buyers.

It is my understanding that all Esterigons will have to be assembled by each seller which is a huge task in itself. You can see in the video below, the full process of assembling the GG Esterigon. Once the sellers have put all their units together and Imeo gives the nod, Esterigon and it's spares will at last be available to buy. GG users will finally be able to get their hands on the first of a new wave of Golden Greeks.

Mini iAtty

While checking e-smokeguru I noticed this little beauty that slipped by me. Sadly it is out of stock but I couldn't resist posting about it as it is so unique. You can see the full item details at the link below the picture.

F5,F5,F5,F5........Esterigon release getting closer

Just a friendly reminder that the limited run of 1000 Esterigon will be released very shortly and if you are thinking of getting one, now would be a good time to start checking the sellers sites. You should plan your purchases so you can save on delivery by getting everything ordered at the same time. So if you are after spares or extra's, start looking now.

Also don't forget to order your batteries, Esterigon takes an 18500 battery in standard mode but I think it was said there will be options to purchase 18650 and 18350 tubes too.

The last thing I read from Imeo regarding the release of Esterigon was a post stating he might ship to sellers in around 3-4 days. That was 3 days ago, so we are getting close now. Just remember that suggested date could change at any moment.

The only place to get Esterigon is from the following sellers. Pick the seller closest to you and good luck!

GG Proteus Specifications

While Esterigon is looking fantastic the most anticipated GG release is Proteus. Imeo has taken his time in designing and manufacturing it and rightly so. It seems that we are nearly at the end of this long wait and before too long Proteus will wing it's way into the hands of GG fans all over the world.

I had previously written about Proteus but now have some more recent facts to add. Below is the list of features from Imeo, outlining the functionality of Proteus. Note the addition of a 'secret feature' on line 23.

Proteus's Electronic specifications:

1. Atomizer detection

2. Working atomizer check

3. Battery check

4. On/Off Mode

5. 18 seconds cutoff

6. Short circuit protection

7. Reverse battery protection

8. Over-discharge battery protection

9. Thermal monitoring

10. Atomizer doesn't work at all when you go from one menu to another, something that saves battery and doesn't annoy the user

11. Watt range: 5-25 with 1 battery and 5-35 with 2 batteries increased by 1 watt per push of the button (please operate Proteus up to 15 watts)

12. You know when you reach the lowest and the upper limit of watts

13. It works with 1 battery 3,7 volt, with 2x3,7 volt batteries and with 2x3 volt batteries

14. Remembers your last set up

15. 8,3 ampere upper limit and 400 mA lowest limit

16. 8 volts upper limit and 0,5 volt lowest limit

17. Resistance range: 0,4-12,5 ohms

18. The smallest and thinnest electronic part today

19. It goes on and off its tube like a mobile card

20. Totally mechanical button. There is no electronic button on the pcba

21. Button comes off for cleaning without any effort. Just grab it with your nails and put it out.

22. Five colour led

23. It was VV/VW mode. I left only VW mode and I added 1 more secret feature. Ι will let you know about it when time comes.

As you can see it is a full featured list of functions that should be more than enough for any user. The smaller form factor should also be another popular feature. Coupled with a Penelope, the Proteus will make a fantastic addition to anyone's collection. There is still no date for release but it does look worth waiting for.

Esterigon - coming soon

With the release of (possibly the last mechanical GG) Esterigon not too long away Imeo recently posted a few pictures of the near final product. I think I'm right in saying the pictures show the mod in 18500 mode. I should also add the AD ring and negative cap are not shined.

As you can see from the pictures Esterigon is looking very good already. Notice the new, bolder engravings and also the lack of GG wings and serial number. With regards to the serial numbers, Imeo states that all owners will be equal. I can understand his logic but I'm sure there are a few people who will miss having a number.

Esterigon is designed for an 18500 battery config although the option of an 18650 extension tube will be available. Imeo has also hinted at a new tank designed to fit Esterigon. In one of the posts in the official Esterigon thread he says this, "New tank will come out but much later, that will be a fat and short Penelope at 21mm and 3 ml capacity." I can imagine the new tank combined with Esterigon will be like a trimmed down JustGG with tank.

Pic of the Month March and April

Pic of the Month March 2014

Due to not being able to get online I didn't get to post Pic of the month for March, so I'm doing it now. As usual it was a hard task to pick one picture from the great selection that was posted.

The picture I chose for March is this one from active forum member D Stanley Querfurth. I imagine Stan as the Willy Wonka of the GG world, he often posts images of his fantastic GG collection along with some amazing drip tips and set ups. There is always something different about his pictures making a nice change from the stock look of the majority of posted images.

Pic of the Month April 2014

The winner for April is this picture by Utal from Portugal. I love the combination of sunshine, sea and shiny GG. The sea looks so inviting and enjoying a nice vape in the sunshine with that view must be wonderful.

Well done to Stan and Utal, two very nice pictures.

Back online at last!

After the failure of my computer equipment I have managed to get a new PC and get back online. It seems I have a lot of catching up to do but I'm confident normal service will be resumed shortly.

For now here is a video by Imeo where he goes into a lot of detail on the functions of Proteus. To me the operation seems fairly simple, Imeo demonstrates how easy it is to adjust settings whilst using Proteus. I am more impressed with Proteus each time I see it.

Check back soon for more updates on anything new I find out and for more Golden Greek content.
