Tilemahos Armed

For those who haven't seen it yet, Imeo has posted a video on his latest project Tilemahos Armed. I will leave it to the video to explain itself and also leave a link below to a thread where you can find more information.

Pic of the Month August 2016

This month's winner is from Jean Marie for the beautiful mix of brass and steel he has captured in his photo. Since the very early days of Golden Greek these two metals have been a popular choice with collectors and it's easy to see why.

Congrats to Jean Marie who wins 10% off his next GG order at selected GG suppliers. On a side note there were only 5 pictures posted for August so the competition was really close this month. So close that I spent a long time thinking if I should even do a Pic of the Month, hence the lateness again this month.

Anyway for your chance to win don't forget to post your GG pictures in the GG Pictures Thread over on ECF.

GG-GoldenGreek.Com

I'm sure you've already seen the site but if not there is a new website for all things Golden Greek. The site was made by Imeo himself and I must say I think he has done a really good job. If you click the image below it will take you directly to the site or you can find the link under 'useful links' on the tool bar above.

The new site has a lot of sections including news, photos, videos and offers info on past, current and upcoming projects straight from the horses mouth as they say. It should be a great resource for anyone looking to find out more information on anything to do with Golden Greek products, make sure you add it to your bookmarks!

Pic of the Month July 2016

Almost forgot again to pick a winner for Pic of the Month but here I am just in time! This month's winner was a tricky one. Everyone posted great pictures that were absolutely fantastic. I could easily have picked any one of the photos as a winner. However the picture that caught my eye was the one below by Keighles.

I'm going on holiday soon and the sight of a GG by the pool in the sunshine has me itching to get packed and flying away so I can enjoy the same. It's a great combination too, Proteus and Penelope are perfect together and look stunning in this photo.

Congrats to Keighles who wins a 10% discount off his next GG purcahse at selected GG stores. Don't forget for your chance to win Pic of the Month post your GG pictures in the GG Picture Thread over on ECF.

Thanks again to Keighles and everyone else who posted photos!

Pic of the Month June 2016

There wasn't a huge selection of entries to choose from for June but one picture stood out for me. I think it is the combination of the GG with the natural rock and polished finish on both. It all seems to go together very nicely, what do you think?

The picture is by leemc37 who wins a 10% discount off his next GG purchase at selected GG shops. Remember for your chance to win just post a pic of your GG in the GG Pictures Thread.

Congrats to leemc37 and thanks for sharing a cool picture!

Pic of the Month May 2016

This months Pic of the Month was, in one way, another easy pick for me. With the release of Cybrillion I knew I was going to choose a picture that featured the new GG mod. All I had to do was see which picture I thought best illustrated the newest member of the GG family in all it's glory. That picture comes from forum member vodja.

A great picture, showing a GG where it should be, in the hand and in use. I like how it shows the scale of Cybrillion and how nicely it fits in the hand. Coupled with the clear tank it makes a very cool and current looking mod, I am very envious!

Congrats to vodja, he wins a 10% discount off his next GG order from selected GG stores. Remember for your chance to win just post your GG pictures in the GG Picture Thread.

Instructional Videos

Imeo has posted two instructional videos that will be useful to anyone keen on getting an insight into the workings of the latest GG mods about to be released. The first is a continuation from the Cybrillion video and goes a bit more in depth into cleaning and maintaining Cybrillion. The second video is a very lengthy breakdown into how to operate the hotly anticipated Proteus. I'll post both videos below for you to watch but remember you can also see them over on Imeo's channel HERE.

Cybrillion Video

Imeo has posted some details on ECF highlighting some key features of Cybrillion which I'll list here.

Picture from ECF

Very small (81mm)
Invisible venting holes
Immortal lock with 1/3 of a turn
Ability to adjust the path of the button
Ability to adjust the hardness of the button in 2 ways (quick/slow)
Ability to lock left or right (depending what suits you better or if you are left handed or right handed person)
Ability to adjust or change the hardness of the lock mechanism
Only one contact (ALL e-cigs have at least 2 contacts)
Short circuit protection (via hot spring)
Excellent spring contact (the one side of the spring has solid contact with the body)
Very easy and rare cleaning
Very easy to assemble and disassemble
Made of only very big pieces to handle them and not loose them easily
Made in a very simple way
23mm external diameter
Engraved
Accepts 18650 batteries up to 66,5mm in length

and of course:
it sits vertical
it doesnt roll on flat surfaces

If this list isn't enough to get you excited Imeo has just put up a video on Youtube going into a lot of detail about Cybrillion. He explains all the parts and functions in the video below.

I think Cybrillion looks like a very exciting product and very different from anything we have seen so far from Imeo. I love the button and the ease of adjustment, also the locking mechanism seems really solid. In my opinion this looks to be another excellent addition to the GG line and I can't wait to see them released.

Pic of the Month April 2016

This months winner was an easy pick for a change. As soon as I saw it I knew it had to be the winner, it's such a great picture. I'm not sure what size tank the Tilemahos is but I love it.

It matches perfectly with the mod, a real touch of class. The picture is from forum regular breminator who wins 10% off his next GG order at selected GG stores.

Remember for your chance to win just post your GG pictures in the GG Picture Thread.

Cybrillion

For those that have not seen it yet, details have emerged of the new tube mod from Imeo. It is to be called the Cybrillion and features a unique design mechanism for firing the device. It's an 18650 device although it is still very compact.

I won't say too much more about it as Frank Muders has already written a great review over at vaperszene.de which you can visit by clicking HERE.

Future GG Products

It's been a while since I had a look at what we have coming up in the GG line. In fact I totally missed the release of the different versions of Tilemahos in various diameters. I had seen them but didn't get round to writing about them. I admit I was probably quite late in seeing them, in fact the first I knew about them was when I saw these pictures, already well into production.

Now I'm determined to stay ahead of the game on the latest devices Imeo has lined up. Adam on ECF started a thread about future mods where Imeo has confirmed a new tube style mod, a 30mm GG4S a new 32.5 mm mod and most exciting to me, a box mod.

The tube style mod will be a 23mm side firing similar to the Esterigon but with a bigger button. It's small like Esterigon and has a simple and effective lock mechanism. Pictures should be ready in about 3 weeks so I'll keep my eyes out for those.

No more info on the 30mm GG4S but that isn't hard to imagine. The 32.5mm mod sounds interesting. Again with this mod there is not much information I have found but I'll keep looking.

Lastly the box mod will be a small and compact mechanical box mod. Smaller than anything seen before with new functions and very easy to operate according to Imeo. No word on if it will be series or parallel or what size battery it will take. I can't wait to see what it will look like.

Talking of box mods I think one area where Imeo has missed an opportunity is in the high end box mod area of the ecig market. This could be his first step in that direction. Coupled in the future with VIR he could have a huge hit on his hands. If you look at any high end box mod you will see thay are in constant demand and very hard to get hold of, it is a growing market as people move on from smaller regulated devices to something bigger and better. I would love to see a Golden Greek mod, VIR inside, made of a mix of Steel/Wood/Stabilised Wood or even high quality plastics, take your pick. There are some beautiful box mods around and if anyone can create a mod to beat them it's Imeo.

Finally at the very end of the ECF thread Imeo mentions the future use of Zirkonium as a metal for ecigs. I found this picture below and it looks like an interesting material.

I doubt Imeo has such a rough finish in mind though! It has a strong resistance to corrosion, is refractory and hard, as well as resistant to chemical attack. It is often used in surgical equipment, dental implants, knee and hip replacements, etc. It sounds like a very robust material but all we really need to know is 'Does it polish up well?!'

The futrue looks good for GG with some exciting projects on the horizon. I will do my best to keep on top of them and bring you any news as I find it.

Stolen Mod

Saw this on ECF and thought I'd post it here to get more eyes on the lookout.

Hey guys,
please take care if you get an offer of a black ESG edition Mod.
This one gets stolen from our french friend Jean Marie and was patinated in a unique way.
So whenever you see it, please give him a note to get it back.
Thank you

If you see this very distinctive mod anywhere or are offered it please contact Jean Marie on ECF. He is a huge GG fan and I'm sure he would love to get this back.

Pic of the Month March 2016

For this months picture there was an incredible list of amazing pictures to choose from as usual. The hard part for me is trying to narrow the choices down. I wish I could give more prizes. Anyway this months winner is this fantastic collection from De woern.

A lot of GG pieces in different finishes showing how classy and high end the GG looks. I'm a big fan of the brass and steel look so this picture really stood out to me. Congrats to De woern, he wins a 10% discount off his next purchase at any GG store. Remember for your chance to win just post your GG pictures in the GG Picture Thread.

Suppliers

I have just updated the suppliers list on the navigation bar and the suppliers page here and on My Golden Greek. Please visit their sites to check out what they have for sale and if you notice any dead links let me know. I am in the process of updating a few things so hopefully everything will be working like it's supposed to.

As you'll see from the list there are now 9 stores worldwide to get your GG products from. This should make it a little easier to find some items if they aren't in stock at your usual dealers shop. I've had a quick visit to all of the sites and they have a lot to offer, not just GG products so are well worth checking out.

Pic of the Month February 2016

Hands in the air time. I totally forgot to do Pic of the Month for February. I have been so busy with lots of little things in the real world that it totally slipped my mind. Anyway here we are and I remembered just in time. This month was another great month for pics and was as hard as ever to pick a winner. I dabbled with the idea of just picking one at random but didn't think that would be fair. In the end I decided on this picture by leemc37. I love the clear tank and the drip tip and also the piece of wood used to prop the GG4S up. It looks like a perfect little set up for a great vape, all day long.

Congrats to Lee who wins a 10% discount off his next purchase at any GG store. Remember for your chance to win just post your GG pictures in the GG Picture Thread.

eSmokeGuru New Improved Website!

For those that haven't seen it yet eSmokeGuru have done a major redesign to their website. The overhaul includes improvements in lots of areas. The site is now responsive meaning that it will look great on whatever device you are using, be it smartphone, laptop, tablet, etc.

As well as the cosmetic change there is a major change to the ordering system. Items in your cart will no longer disappear before you get to check out. This means there will be no more panic whilst filling your cart that your items will be grabbed before you can pay for them. Items in your basket will not be lost due to some other customer completing their order faster than you do. This function is available with a time limit of 30 minutes. If someone has a product in their cart and it's the last item in stock you will be able to see a time bar under the item indicating the product may be available if the other customer doesn't complete their order. Products have also been split into categories so you can find everything quickly and easily.

I think all these new changes are great and anything that makes browsing and ordering easier is a huge plus in my opinion. You can visit eSmokeGuru by clicking on the picture above.

Pic of the Month January 2016

This month there were a lot of nice pictures to choose from as usual. The winner I've picked is the picture below by Jean Marie. I love the setting and the nice golden colours.

As well as winning Pic of the Month I feel I should mention that Jean Marie is a prolific poster who always posts great pictures. Visit the Pictures Thread to see the rest of his stuff.

Congrats to Jean Marie who wins a 10% discount off his next purchase at any GG store. Remember for your chance to win just post your GG pictures in the GG Picture Thread.

A PBusardo Review

I just went on Youtube and saw that PBusardo has uploaded a video on Tilemahos and the Springomizer. A lot of it will be old news to GG fans but it was nice to see another view on it and to hear the respect Phil has for Imeo and his work. I wont post the video here but if you click on the picture below it will take you to Youtube where you can watch it. As always Phil is very thorough and very honest.

Another video I wanted to share is the one below by Andy Sutton. We are very close, here in the UK, to the possibility of some big changes in vaping. The Tobacco Product Directive could have a huge impact on the future of vaping in this country, this video highlights some of the issues.

As a final note please accept my apologies for the lack of input lately. I will be totally honest and admit I have been struggling to motivate myself. I will give myself a good kick in the backside though andget my head back in the game.

Pic of the Month December 2015

As usual there were plenty of pictures I could have picked as the winner for December. And as usual it was a hard choice to pick just one but in the end I have decided to go with some GG history and this great picture by Breminator.

I wish I had started collecting GG when these were made, maybe Imeo will produce them again one day. I love how elegant they are as well as the mix of metals. Pure class.

Congrats to Breminator who wins a 10% discount off his next purchase at any GG store. Remember for your chance to win just post your GG pictures in the GG Picture Thread.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all readers of this blog. I am working on a few things to improve GG160 in the coming months and I appreciate everyone who takes the time to visit the site. I have a few ideas I'd like to explore this year and I hope that I can make GG160 bigger and better!

In other news I still have December's photos from the Picture Thread to upload as well as picking a winner for Pic of the Month. I hope you enjoyed the holiday season and that you have a great start to 2016. Let's make this year a year to remember!
